ABOUT TRAIN:- 

Commencing its journey on January 26, 1982, the Palace on Wheels, a collaborative initiative by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railway, pioneered luxury rail travel in India with the noble objective of promoting tourism in Rajasthan. This iconic train features fourteen guest coaches, each meticulously designed to mirror the opulent personal carriages of erstwhile Maharajas, providing a unique historical ambiance. To ensure an enhanced guest experience, the Palace on Wheels has undergone multiple refurbishments over the years, incorporating technological advancements and modern amenities, alongside modifications to its itinerary and off-train excursions. The train's distinctive appeal, coupled with its renowned warm hospitality and welcoming ambience, consistently enchants its passengers. This enduring commitment to excellence has not only established it among the world's top five luxury trains but also sustained its legacy of sophisticated Indian courtesy for over three decades.

PALACE ON WHEELS CABINS:- 

The Palace on Wheels truly embodies royal luxury, particularly evident in its meticulously designed cabins, which exemplify the grandeur of India's luxury train experience. This prestigious train features 14 air-conditioned coaches, with each cabin boasting a unique charm, adorned with elements inspired by the rulers of Rajasthan and named after royal provinces to ensure an aristocratic ambiance throughout. Guests can select from various luxury cabins, all offering an exquisite blend of comfort and regal splendor. Complementing this opulent accommodation, the onboard dining experience is equally impressive, with the Sheesh Mahal restaurant captivating guests through its decorations inspired by the Amer Fort and intricate Tigri work, creating an enchanting atmosphere where reflections shimmer. Additionally, the Swarn Mahal restaurant offers a striking red theme that further elevates the culinary journey. Itinerary

Meeting and assistance upon arrival at Delhi airport or pick up from hotel and transfer to train station.

The Palace on Wheels begins it's journey every Wednesday evening from New Delhi, where passengers receive a traditional Indian ceremonial welcome, and are escorted to their cabins by the attendants. The evening is at leisure to get to know the train and your fellow passengers.

·         1600 HRS: Reporting at Safdarjung Railway Station for check in formalities.

·         1830 HRS: Leaving for Jaipur.

·         1930 HRS: Dinner aboard the royal Palace on Wheels.

The Palace on Wheels today visits Jaipur, the capital of the desert state of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Pink city. Sightseeing in Jaipur includes visits to the City Palace , Jantar Mantar , the Hawa Mahal, and the Amber Fort, where you climb the fort atop gaily bedecked Elephants. After a busy day of sightseeing, return to your luxury train for Dinner .

·         0345 HRS: Arrive in Jaipur.

·         0700 HRS: Refreshing breakfast onboard Palace on Wheels India.

·         0800 HRS: Traditional welcome ritual at the Jaipur Railway Station.

·         0830 HRS: De-board the train for an excursion tour to the city.

·         1330 HRS: A tantalizing lunch at the Amber Fort.

·         1500 HRS: A explorative tour to Amber Fort.

·         1630 HRS: A tour to the local markets.

·         1800 HRS: Embark the train again for tea and leisure.

·         1900 HRS: Returning back to Jaipur.

·         2000 HRS: A grand dinner at the Jai Mahal Palace.

·         2200 HRS: Returning to Palace on Wheels for onward journey to Sawai Madhopur.

Early this morning, the Palace on Wheels rolls in to Sawai Madhopur, the railway station for the Ranthambore National Park. The Ranthambore National Park is one of India’s Project Tiger Reserves, and one of the best places in India to see the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers in the Wild. Touring here includes a visit to a Ranthambore Fort and a Tiger Safari into the National Park. In addition to the Tigers, the Park is also home to more than 300 species of birds, and dozens of species of other small and large animals including Deer, Hyena, Jackal etc. After the safari, you return to the Palace on Wheels, and then depart for Chittorgarh, famous for it’s legends of valour, honour and pride associated with the Rajput rulers of Rajasthan.

On arrival in Chittorgarh, visit the Chittorgarh Fort. Set atop a hill, covering an area of almost 70 acres, the Chittorgarh Fort is among the largest and grandest forts of Rajasthan. After sightseeing, return to the Palace on Wheels, and continue on to Udaipur.

·         0530 HRS: Arrival in the Railway Station of Sawai Madhopur.

·         0600 HRS: Starting an early morning jungle safari to the adventurous Ranthambore National Park.

·         0915 HRS: A breakfast in a forest lodge.

·         1000 HRS: Return back to Palace on Wheels.

·         1030 HRS: A departing journey to Chittorgarh.

·         1300 HRS: A royal lunch aboard Palace on Wheels.

·         Chittorgarh

·         1600 HRS: Arrival in Chittorgarh.

·         1630 HRS: A sightseeing tour to the Chittorgarh Fort.

·         1800 HRS: Evening tea and other refreshments at the cafeteria of Chittorgarh Fort accompanied by a beautiful light and sound show.

As you wake up this morning, the Palace on Wheels arrives in to Udaipur, the Lake City, also known as the Venice of the East. Sightseing in Udaipur includes a visit to the City Palace, a large Palace complex set on the banks of the Lake Pichola, overlooking the Lake Palace, and a visit to the Crystal gallery, famous for it’s collection of crystal glass furniture, crockery and chandeliers. One of the highlights of this stop in Udaipur is the lunch at the famous Lake Palace hotel, a floating marvel in the Lake Pichola. After sightseeing return to the Palace on Wheels for Dinner .

·         0200 HRS: Leaving Chittorgarh for an onward journey to Udaipur.

·         0800 HRS: Arrival in the lake city Udaipur.

·         0815 HRS: A refreshing breakfast in a deluxe hotel.

·         0900 HRS: Off-train excursion tours to the city attractions.

·         1330 HRS: A stately lunch in a heritage hotel.

·         1430 HRS: A venturous boat ride in the lake Pichola.

·         1500 HRS: Back to the railway station.

·         1530 HRS: Evening tea accompanies by refreshments onboard Palace on Wheels Onward journey to Jaisalmer.

·         1930 HRS: A deluxe dinner aboard Palace on Wheels.

Jaisalmer, also called the golden city, located in the heart of the Thar desert is the next stop of your luxury train.

Sightseeing in Jaisalmer includes a visit to the yellow sandstone Jaisalmer fort, that towers magnificently over the city skyline, and is certainly worth a visit . Also visit the painstakingly latticed havelis or rich man's mansions, the Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli, that are fine examples of the skills of stone carver's of this area.

In the afternoon, you visit the sand dunes of Sam, where a short camel ride is included as well, as is a refreshing cup of tea on the dunes. Later there is a Dinner and a cultural programme at one of the best hotels in Jaisalmer.

·         0730 HRS: A rejuvenating break on the go.

·         0915 HRS: Disembark in Jaisalmer for a sightseeing tour to the city.

·         1330 HRS: Either an onboard lunch in Palace on Wheels or at the deluxe Moomal hotel.

·         1530 HRS: Tea and refreshments in the sand dunes of Jaisalmer along with a camel ride.

·         1930 HRS: A royal dinner in the sand dunes accompanied by a colorful cultural program.

·         2300 HRS: Returning back to the train for an onward journey to Jodhpur.

Early this morning, the Palace on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur. After breakfast onboard, visit the world famous Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, now known as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, which is the nesting place for thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds.

After Bharatpur, the Palace on Wheels takes a short hop to Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal. Sightseeing in Agra, includes a visit to the Agra Fort, followed by the Taj Mahal, a pristine monument of undying love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal .

·         0500 HRS: Arrive at Bharatpur.

·         0600 HRS: Leaving for Keoladeo Ghana National Park for an early morning bird viewing.

·         0730 HRS: A breakfast in a deluxe lodge in the forest.

·         0830 HRS: Returning back to the train.

·         0845 HRS: A journey to Agra.

·         Agra

·         1030 HRS: Arrival in Agra.

·         1100 HRS: A city sightseeing tour to Agra.

·         1330 HRS: A delightful lunch in a deluxe hotel in Agra.

·         1500 HRS: Exploring the beauty of Taj Mahal.

·         1730 HRS: A roam to the city market.

·         1830 HRS: Savoring a light and sound show.

Early this morning the Palace on Wheels rolls back in to the train station in Delhi, where your journey ends.

·         0400 HRS: Arrival in the Safdarjung Railway Station.

·         0730 HRS: An onboard breakfast followed by checkout and farewell formality

Note:

  • GST as applicable shall be charged extra.
  • 10?itional shall be charged on the trips having Christmas and New Year Departure dates.
  • Children up to the age of 5 years will be complimentary; however, it will be in the same cabin.
  • Tariff will be charged for the children aging above 5 years but less than 12 years @50% provided they sharing the accommodations with the adult.
  •  One cabin has occupancy of 2 adult Pax only, additional mattress can be provided for infants or child below 12years based on policy.
  • The Tariff in Indian currency is fixed for guests having valid Indian Nationality proof i.e., a Valid Indian passport & OCI card holders (valid proof for the same needs to be submitted at the time of booking in case of any variance in the documents, then the Dollar rate would be applicable).
  •  Operator, under information to RTDC, reserves the right to revise the tariff at any time without any prior intimation.
  • The above Tariff is subject to change without notice.
  • Goods & Services Tax (GST) is subject to change as per the government of India directives.


Booking Policy :
  • 25% of the ticket value at the time of confirming the booking.
  • The remaining 75% of the ticket value 60 days before the departure date.


Cancellation Policy :
  • A Palace on Wheels ticket cancellation between 120 to 90 days before the travel date will incur a 10?duction of the total ticket value.
  • 25% of the ticket value shall be deducted on cancellation between 89 to 60 days before the travel date.
  • 50% of the ticket value shall be deducted on cancellation around 59 to 30 days before the travel date.
  • No refund shall be admissible in case the booking is cancelled within 29 days before the departure date.
  • On cancellation of booking Suo-moto by Operator 100% of the fund deposited (without any kind of charges/claims) will be refunded.
  • However, Operator will not be liable for any refund or compensation for any services such as pre/post accommodation, airline tickets, and excursions etc. that have been booked by the guest and/or their Travel Agent.
  • Operator, under information to RTDC reserves the right to cancel the tour/trips at any given point of time to whatsoever reasons, 100% of received amount will be refunded in such cases.
  • The operator will review and apprise the agents of such instances 60 days before departure in case of low occupancy.
  • Operator has the right to decide the same between 45 days to 30 days of the departure and officially inform the agents or individuals of such bookings.
  • The minimum occupancy defined is 50% to run the operations, that is, 17 cabins.


No show/ En route termination of tour/amendment :

  • No Show - In case of No Show / Non-arrival of the guest, refund or adjustment for future travel will not be applicable. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited.
  • En route termination of tour - In case of En route termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons refund or adjustment for future travel will not be applicable. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited.
  • Amendment - Is only possible under the circumstances like Natural Disaster / Natural Calamity or Serious Health Problem's (this needs to be supported by doctor's certificate) and is subject to availability. No refunds are possible and every case will be decided on merits on a case to case basis. No amendment will be permissible in case of booking of groups or complete train.

  • The tariff is inclusive of cost of travel, accommodation, all meals, sightseeing tours, entrance fee (excluding video camera fee) for monuments & palaces, entertainment, camel ride at Jaisalmer (Sam Sand Dunes), Jeep Safari at Ranthmabhore, boat ride at Udaipur (Lake Pichola) and rickshaw ride at Bharatpur bird sanctuary.
  • Jeep Safari on a sharing basis at Ranthambore National Park.
  • Special Note : Guest travelling in super Deluxe cabin & Presidential suite the sightseeing and excursions will be provided by exclusive car and English speaking guide services during the journey.
    The safari in Ranthambhore will be provided on a sharing basis.
  • Exclusions (Fares don't Include)

    • Tariff does not include Liquor, Tips, Laundry services, Telephone calls, Video camera fees and any other items of personal nature.
